Recommend this event

Enjoy an evening of enlightening talks and activities inspired by the exhibitions I object: Ian Hislop's search for dissent and I am Ashurbanipal: king of the world, king of Assyria.

Listen to curators and conservators bring objects to life, try your hand at creating your own cuneiform table or test your wits against the Royal Game of Ur. Enjoy live music and enchanting storytelling, while exploring the Museum's newest galleries – the Mitsubishi Corporation Japanese Galleries and the Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic world.

A note on entering the Museum for the event:
Between 17.30 and 18.30, entry will be via the Montague Place entrance. From 18.30 Members can enter via the Main entrance on Great Russell Street and the Montague Place entrance will close. If you are in the Museum before the official start of the event at 18.15, you will be asked to wait in a designated area of the Great Court next to the café which will be open for refreshments. Security checks will be in operation at both entrances.

Activities are very popular and run on a first-come, first-served basis, so please arrive early to your chosen activity. All activities are repeated during the event. Special exhibitions are ticketed and free tickets are available from the Membership Desk.
