Excavated in 1939, the famous Sutton Hoo ship burial is presented in room 41.

The burial site consisted of a wooden long boat covered by a large mound of soil. Examine some of the beautiful objects found in the ship burial, and see what the excavation site looked like.

This resource helps teachers plan a visit to the Sutton Hoo section of the Anglo-Saxon period collection, and includes activities for before, during and after a visit.
