The Marsh Trust Awards

In September 2016, the British Museum and the Marsh Christian Trust presented their eighth annual ‘Volunteers in Museum Learning’ Award.

This award recognises the hugely valuable contribution that volunteers make in helping museums engage with their visitors.

This year we received over ninety applications from museums, galleries and heritage sites and awards were presented to individuals and groups of volunteers from across the United Kingdom.

The overall national winner this year was the Blaenavon Community Museum Heritage Group Volunteers. The overall winner received £2000 in addition to the £500 that they and each of the regional winners is awarded. All winners received a certificate and prizes, which were presented at a ceremony at the British Museum.
