The British Museum is excited to invite you to its first ever Members' late event, celebrating Halloween here at the Museum. You'll reach deep into the history of Halloween to discover its wild Celtic ancestor – Samhain. Experience this ancient festival of shadow and light through music, art, food and theatre.

What's on?

Celebrate life in the Great Court flooded with fire

  • Dance to Celtic live music
  • Get creative with traditional turnip carving
  • Have a go at a Celtic drumming workshop
  • Dress up at a Celtic headdress workshop
  • Create and eat Ogham biscuits with Tom Gilliford from The Great British Bake Off

Travel to the edges of the Otherworld as you get lost in the galleries and reflect on mortality and the darker side of this festival

  • Creep through a ghostly gallery
  • Relax and listen to a Celtic harp
  • Draw shadows in the Parthenon Gallery
  • Be haunted by Celtic ghost stories
  • Discover your future with fortune tellers

Tickets £29 for Members and their guests, including a complimentary drink. Members may purchase tickets for up to six guests.
