Copper alloy brooch. Fine casting, reatins original golden colour. Curved bow, sub-oval in section, decorated with raised, elongated trumpet-ended curves. These are cast and finished off with fine tooling. Two small circular settings on bow, one near spring, the other at the centre. Third similar setting at the tip of the foot where it meets the bow. Each has a tiny central depression and may originally have held a riveted enamel or coral stud. The foot has an open pear-shaped loop which turns back to touch the bow. The separate catchplate, below, is also open. The spring has two coils and an external chord.
